Notes:
Smooth Cone is a New Zealand hop variety, no longer grown commercially, but ostensibly still grown in New Zealand. Its glory years were in the 1960s and 70s. It is the offspring of an open pollination of a California Cluster and a sibling to First Choice. Although it has a moderate alpha acid content (8% average), it has been used to breed several high alpha New Zealand varieties. High yield and very good storage stability (73% after 6 months).
