Southern Promise was bred from Southern Brewer and a wild Slovenian male in order to produce a variety that would withstand the short daylight near the equator. It has fairly high alpha acids, and low cohumulone giving it bright and smooth bittering qualities. It is a nice dual-use hops with higher humulene content giving it a nice woody, earthy quality along with its hoppiness. Southern Promise has high yield potential with average storage stability.
